Storyboard - First Drafts

The below are storyboards of my groups first drafts.

iMovie Tutorial

I am thinking of creating my documentary on iMovie so I have put into some research about how to use it. I found the video below to be very helpful.

Mission Statement

Brighton and Hove Albion - Route to the Amex will be aired on a one off bases, It will be shown on channel 4. The documentary is aimed at no particular target audience, this is because football attracts all ages. The documentary will be broadcasted on channel 4, as this channel is known for its documentaries. 4OD online means that they can catch up if they wanted to watch it but missed it for any reason.

The purpose for making the documentary is show everyone what the club had to go through to get to their new stadium. As after many rejections and a 14 year wait they got the stadium, I will explain this but just in more detail.

When creating my documentary we are going to use a camera with a tripod to keep a steady screen. When we have our footage we will edit it on a MAC with the program iMovie.

Montage idea`s

I have looked at idea`s for a purposed montage and I came up with this clip which I found on YouTube, it shows ideas which I like the look of and will definitely use that as a guide when creating the montage that will appear in documentary.

This is the video:

Final documentary idea

Within my media course I have to create a documentary about a particular topic. The final idea my group came up with was about Brighton and Hove Albion`s route to there new stadium. The documentary we will make will have these features included:

  • Primary footage
  • Achieve footage
  • Interviews
  • Primary images
  • Secondary images
  • Virtual tour
  • Facts
  • Statistics
  • Fans views

I have chosen to use these as I feel within a documentary you should use variety. The documentary will be about the journey Brighton and Hove Albion have taken to get to the New Amex stadium. This is the perfect documentary as me and my group are interested in the topic as well as knowing a lot on the club and stadium.

However to find any information i might need to get hold of, I will use these sources to get that information:

Michael Moore - Bowling for Columbine (2002) - Movie Trailer

I recently watched the documentary : Bowling for columbine , By Michael Moore. I wrote an essay on the documentary with I will be uploaded very soon. This clip is the documentary trailer.

The features of Mockumentaries

Mockumentaries are used to depict things such as human behavior and social and political aspects. Compared to documentaries which are non-fiction films and videos that unscripted. However mockumentaries are loosely scripted  and largely ad-libbed.

Within mockumentaries there are 3 main features these are:

  1. Parody/Satire
  2. Critique
  3. Deconstruction

Parody/Satire: Mockumentaries as parody deliberately copy another work in a comic or satirical way. It implicitly reinforces an aspect of popular culture: Sometimes so well that it is hard to determine that it is fictional or sometimes it is so extreme that it seems ridiculous.

Critique: Mockumentaries as a critique can parody or satire an aspect of popular culture.

Deconstruction: Mockumentaries as deconstruction subvert and deconstruct the conventions and aspects of the documentary.
